House of Curls was created during a time when it became very clear that a change needed to happen. Founder, Clarice Woods chose to create a space that prioritizes curls and texture because they saw that there weren't enough artists willing to learn how to service guests with curls and coils. Although we've made some strides as a society, there's still a long way to go. Our mission is to provide a safe space for every curled and coiled human to feel seen and celebrated for their hair however they choose to wear it.
meet clarice
I am Clarice, and I have been a hairstylist for 15 years. I have worked in various branches of the beauty industry- anywhere from Supercuts to TV shows. The versatility of this industry is what i love most, It’s allowed me to find myself, my voice, and it has helped me discover what it is I would like to offer the world.
In 2021, I established House of Curls and never looked back.
The primary objective for House of Curls is to foster a sense of community. The pandemic highlighted the significance of self-perception, revealing the cultural importance of hair and beauty. Culture thrives on community.
We learn and grow together, whether it's about our hearts or our hair. I intend for every human that sits in my chair to feel nourished, supported and held.
